About Daniel Montoya, ASW

I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW 111676) at Anel Lee & Associates.

My work centers on interrupting black and white thinking and helping people discover who they are outside of who they were told to be.

Where I Come From

Growing up Latino, I understand firsthand how family systems, cultural expectations, and the world around us can make it hard to find your most authentic self.

I bring that lived experience into every session with compassion, empathy, and what my clients quickly learn is a genuinely warm presence.

I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Azusa Pacific University and my Master of Social Work with a specialization in Integrated Health from California State University, Long Beach.

How I Help

Training includes EMDR through an EMDRIA-approved program. The broader framework is strengths-based, incorporating solution-focused therapy, DBT skills, and mindfulness practices tailored to each person I work with.

I support adolescents and adults navigating depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, trauma, grief, shame, suicidal ideation, family conflict, identity exploration, and life transitions.

My commitment is simple: to create a space where you feel safe enough to be challenged, heal, and grow.

Outside of the Office

I’m a food lover, a dedicated gym-goer, and someone who recharges by spending time with the people who matter most to me.

That value for community and connection is something I bring into my work every single day.

You are worthy, and you deserve it.

You’ve waited long enough.

If you’re ready to figure out who you are outside of who you were told to be, I’d be glad to meet you.

Reaching out can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to have everything sorted out before you do.

Schedule a consultation with me at Anel Lee & Associates, and we’ll take it from there.
